tCommissioning a beautiful work of art for your home, exactly to your specifications can be such a joy.
Don't worry if you've never commissioned a painting before. The process is really easy and enjoyable.

Prices are a guide for an oil painting on canvas, ready to hang, unframed, including postage and packing to UK mainland.
I only paint one animal per canvas. This is because my style needs space for the animal to "breathe" and makes the animal the star of the show!

The Commission process.
The most popular commissions that I do is work based on my own work, but with a tweak.
Sometimes people have seen a print of mine and they want an original based on that print. I love doing this kind of work, as it means I'm working in my style, but in a size and palette just for you.

Here's an example based on a print. On the left is one of my best sellers, Majesty. The client wanted a 100cm square painting, without gold leaf on the antlers. They also selected their own palette to include some smokey greens to tone in with their decor. The final painting is beautiful.

With this commission the clients saw my painting "Upeppo" of a lion walking in the morning sun. They wanted a painting of an alaskan bear, which they saw on their honeymoon. They sent me a great photo from their travels and I was able to create their bear for them, giving them the perfect reminder of their wonderful trip.

With this turtle we went from a square to a rectangle, adjusted the palette for more turquoise and teal. The turtle is facing to the right and there is a sprinkling of gold dust.

Then what happens, when do I pay?
When everyone is happy I draw up a commission agreement.
Occasionally prices are slightly different depending on your request (don't worry about this, it's rare for it to be more, and I'll tell you before you pay anything!) The commission agreement will state the price and timescale.
Once you pay the deposit, the price will not change; there are no hidden extras.
The image here is an example of the commission agreement you'll receive before you commit to anything..
It's just one side of A4.
It outlines the size, subject matter and style of the work, the colours you want and it names other work you've seen that you like. It states the price and and deadline and any other postage and packing details.
It's easy peasy, no waffle and very clear, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about.
Work begins when you pay the deposit.
