This beautiful portrait has been created with only the finest quality materials. The layers are built up slowly over a period of time, extraordinary textures can be seen and the effect is sticking and unique.
The oil is mixed with a cold wax medium which help created the texture through out the process. The painting is on cradled wooded panel rather than on canvas. What does cradled mean? It simply means there is a frame like structure on the back of the panel with prevents warping. The edge is 2" thick.

This painting of Shackleton's ship, Endurance was painted for Chalk valley history festival. The Wreck was found, intact, in March 2022; over a century after it slipped into the city depths.
Dan Snow was on the expedition and I was delighted that he was able to pop over to me during the History festival when he noticed my painting.
