Timelapse Painting of A lion (including the mistakes!)

3/7/2018

I haven't posted a time-lapse painting for a while, she here's a big ole lion being developed one a few days.
In addition here's a little secret. The original composition for this lion was totally different. After two attempts I had to change my ideas, go back to my sketchbook and resolve the issue.
This photo show the first two attempts. I sketch in oil and you can just about see the evidence of two lions here.
As I let the linen canvas show through I couldn't simply paint over it and start again, I had to work with my mistakes to over come them.
I think there might be  a lesson there...
First attempt sketch where mistakes are made
Sometimes mistakes happen. That's fine as long as we learn from them!
