Timelapse painting of a tiger

22/1/2018

I've been adding to my collection of animals from further afield. Here's a bit of time lapse photography from the middle stages of a painting.
The first stage, is hard to film as I move about so much and move the canvas around that I'm in the way. But here I've filmed a couple of hours crammed into 39 seconds!
The video  hopefully demonstrates two of the key features of oil painting.  Which are dark to light, and thin to thick.
The first layer is dark diluted paint, and the last thing to be painted is fatter, whiter paint.
Tiger, oil on linen
Tiger. Oil on linen. Almost finished!
